    Prescription Refill Policy

    1. General Policy:

At Advocare Ambler Primary Care, we are committed to providing comprehensive and responsible healthcare to our patients, including the management of prescription medications. Our prescription refill policy is designed to ensure the safe and effective use of medications, minimize risks, and maintain compliance with medical standards and regulations.

    2. Refill Requests:

    • Online Patient Portal: We encourage our patients to use our secure online patient portal to request prescription refills. This provides a convenient and efficient way to manage your medications.

    • Phone Requests: For those unable to access the patient portal, you may also request a prescription refill by contacting our office during regular business hours.

    3. Medication Eligibility:

    • Routine prescription medications for chronic conditions, as prescribed by our healthcare providers, are typically eligible for refills.

    • Controlled substances, such as pain medications or sedatives, may have specific regulations and restrictions. Please refer to our controlled substance prescription policy for further details.

    4. Refill Processing Time:

    • Please allow five  business days for prescription refill requests to be processed. This time frame allows our healthcare providers to review your medical history and assess the appropriateness of the refill.

    5. Appointments and Medication Management:

    • We strongly recommend scheduling regular follow-up appointments with your healthcare provider to monitor your medication regimen, adjust dosages as needed, and discuss any side effects or concerns.

    • Refills may be provided during these follow-up visits, ensuring continuity of care.

    6. Controlled Substances:

    • The prescribing and refilling of controlled substances are subject to state and federal regulations. We strictly adhere to these regulations, which may include in-person visits and specific documentation requirements.

    7. After-Hours and Urgent Refills:

    • For urgent medication needs outside regular business hours, please contact your pharmacy directly. They will contact the on-call healthcare provider if necessary.

    8. Medication Prior Authorizations:

    •  Prior authorization may required by your insurance provider,  please allow  seven  business days to process these requests.

    9. Medication Discontinuation:

    10. Patient Responsibilities:
